On behalf of our highly successful client, we are looking for a motivated Purchasing Assistant to join their dynamic Supply Chain team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to develop their skills in procurement and supply chain management.About You:This development role is ideal for someone looking to grow within procurement. Whilst prior experience in purchasing is beneficial, it is not essential. This position is suitable for candidates interested in pursuing a CIPS qualification or those with prior experience seeking to advance their skills.Key qualities that would benefit this position include:
  • A college diploma, degree, or previous experience in an administrative role.
  • Strong computer literacy, particularly in ERP systems, software solutions, and Excel, with attention to detail.
  • A customer-focused mindset with commercial awareness, proactivity, and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Flexibility with working hours as required.

Responsibilities include:
  • Order Administration: Placing and managing purchase orders, addressing non-conformances, and maintaining electronic records to ensure smooth department operations.
  • Supplier Liaison: Expediting orders, following up on late deliveries, and managing order acknowledgments.
  • Supplier Analysis: Conducting data analysis on delivery performance, quality, forecasts, and participating in tender exercises.
  • Supply Chain Support: Assisting the wider supply chain team, including initial part setup and administrative support.
