This well-respected firm, based in East Yorkshire, works on a variety of civil engineering projects under framework agreements with both private and local authorities. With a long-standing team and impressive growth curve, they offer a dynamic environment that encourages growth and development.Role Overview:This is a full-time, office-based position for a Senior Buyer primarily focused on placing subcontract orders. The role involves handling orders on a back-to-back basis using both NEC and JCT contract frameworks, negotiating with subcontractors, and ensuring the procurement of materials and services aligns with project timelines. Responsibilities include:
- Placing and managing subcontract orders.
- Negotiating with subcontractors, evaluating quotations, and conducting price comparisons.
- Monitoring supplier performance and updating the preferred suppliers list.
- Streamlining procurement processes for timely delivery of materials and services.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
- In-depth experience with NEC and JCT contract documents.
- Collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
- Extensive background in procurement and supply chain management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and written communication.
- Ability to analyse market trends and make informed purchasing decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering strong supplier relationships.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of contract law and procurement regulations.
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in procurement within the civil engineering or construction industry.
