Science Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop a science curriculum in line with national and local standards, ensuring it is engaging, age-appropriate, and meets the needs of diverse learners.
  • Deliver high-quality science instruction using a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Design and implement assessments to gauge students' understanding and progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Identify and address the diverse learning needs of students by offering additional support or enrichment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other science teachers and faculty members to align teaching strategies, share resources, and develop interdisciplinary projects that integrate science with other subjects.

Science Teacher Requirements:

  • PGCE in Secondary Science with QTS or other UK-recognised teaching qualification.
  • Recent GCSE Biology, Physics, and Chemistry teaching experience (within the last 2 years).
  • Ability to foster curiosity and inspire a love for science in students.
  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum and effective classroom behaviour management skills.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Hold a Child Only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education.
