Responsibilities of the Science Teacher:

  • Create a science curriculum that follows national and local guidelines, making it fun and suitable for all students.
  • Teach science in a clear and exciting way, using different methods to fit students' needs, and learning styles.
  • Make tests and assignments to check students' understanding and give helpful feedback.
  • Support students who need extra help or offer more challenging tasks for those who need it.
  • Work with other teachers to share ideas and resources and plan projects that combine science with other subjects.

Requirements of the Science Teacher:

  • PGCE in Secondary Science with QTS or other UK teaching qualification.
  • Recent experience teaching GCSE Biology, Physics, and Chemistry (last 2 years).
  • Able to inspire students and spark curiosity in science.
  • Good understanding of the curriculum and strong classroom management skills.
  • Committed to keeping children safe and promoting their well-being.
  • Have a Child Only DBS on the update service or willing to apply through GSL Education. Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
