- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people, including those of foster carers.
- Contribute to Hull Children's Social Care Services strategy, ensuring safety, permanency, and stability for children and young people.
- Collaborate with colleagues, children, parents, and carers, ensuring child-centred practice is at the forefront of all work.
- Recruit, assess, and support foster carers, ensuring adherence to procedures and legislation.
- Undertake placement finding, matching, and allocation of foster carers to meet the needs of children.
- Directly work with carers, children, young people, and families, ensuring a holistic approach to support and safeguarding.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, assessments, and plans in line with Fostering Regulations and NMS.
- Engage in decision-making on complex/high-risk cases and provide advice to colleagues.
- Attend relevant meetings and panels, including Foster Panels, CLA Reviews, and Strategy Meetings.
- Supervise foster carers in accordance with NMS and Fostering Regulations.
- Provide professional support and supervision to social work students and non-qualified team members.
- Participate in an out-of-hours service on a rota basis to provide support to foster carers.
- A qualification in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent.
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Extensive experience in fostering and children’s social care services.
- Strong knowledge of fostering legislation, regulations, and best practice.
