A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hull is searching for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning requirements. This is more than just a job its a chance to make a lasting impact on a childs life and educational journey.

Your Role: What Youll Be Doing

  • One-to-one support Be a trusted mentor, working closely with a pupil to help them overcome learning barriers and reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate and adapt Work hand-in-hand with the SENCO, teachers, and parents to develop personalised learning strategies tailored to the students needs.
  • Create a supportive environment Foster an inclusive and welcoming space where the child feels valued, confident, and engaged in their learning.
  • Monitor progress Observe and assess the pupils development, providing feedback to teachers and adjusting support techniques where necessary.
  • Encourage independence Help the student develop key skills that enable them to gain confidence and self-sufficiency in their learning journey.
  • Keep detailed records Track progress, noting achievements and challenges, and communicate this with relevant stakeholders.

  • Strong communication skills ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • A proactive mindset someone who can adapt and tailor their approach to suit the childs unique learning needs.
  • Additional qualifications or training in special education or behaviour management are desirable but not essential.
