About the Role:

Key Responsibilities of the Primary SEN Teacher:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver individualised lessons that meet the specific needs of pupils with SEN.
  • Develop a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters confidence and independence.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, implementing effective differentiation and intervention strategies.
  • Use creative and adaptive teaching methods to engage pupils and enhance their learning experiences.
  • Foster positive behaviour management strategies to encourage student engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents to enhance pupil development.
  • Contribute to the wider school community, participating in staff meetings, extracurricular activities, and school initiatives.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching pupils with SEN.
  • Have a strong understanding of the National Curriculum and assessment methods for SEN pupils.
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and inspire pupils.
  • Show a commitment to raising pupil attainment through innovative and differentiated teaching strategies.
  • Have experience working with pupils of varying abilities, including those with SEND or EAL needs.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Be available full-time and eager to contribute to school life.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
