Are you a dedicated and passionate educator with a heart for supporting children with special educational needs? 

GSL Education are thrilled to announce that a primary school in Hull is seeking a compassionate and skilled SEN Specialist Teacher to support children with additional needs. The role involves tailoring learning plans and working closely with the SENCO and other staff to ensure all students thrive. 

Responsibilities of the SEN Teacher: 

  • Create and deliver tailored learning plans to meet the needs of children with additional needs. 

  • Work closely with the SENCO and other school staff to develop effective strategies for individual students. 

  • Provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all pupils feel valued and motivated. 

  • Monitor and assess progress, adapting teaching approaches as necessary. 

  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers, offering updates on students’ achievements and challenges. 

  • Contribute to the school’s wider inclusion strategy and ethos. 

 

Requirements for the SEN Teacher: 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification. 

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in a primary school setting. 

  • Strong understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and strategies to support children with a range of needs. 

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. 

  • A nurturing and patient approach to teaching.
