Consortium Professional Recruitment is delighted to be working exclusively with a leading organisation to recruit a highly motivated and experienced Supply Chain Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic Operations team within a forward-thinking business in Hull.As the Supply Chain Manager, you will take full responsibility for overseeing the UK supply chain and purchasing departments, directly managing a small on-site team. Strategically, you will play a key role in shaping and driving the company’s global purchasing strategy. Collaborating closely with engineering and manufacturing teams, you will identify and select strategic suppliers, lead complex negotiations, and facilitate seamless progression from technology proof of concept development to full-scale production.About the role:
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on capabilities, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
  • Lead negotiations to secure favourable terms and conditions.
  • Conduct rigorous supplier qualification processes to ensure compliance with quality, delivery, and performance standards.
  • Continuously analyse supply chain processes to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
  • Develop and implement strategies to scale up technologies across regions with qualified suppliers.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to foster collaboration and address any issues effectively.
  • Identify and assess potential supply chain risks, including supplier disruptions and quality issues.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans to mitigate potential risks and ensure business continuity.
About you:
  • Experience in managing, analysing, and communicating results to senior leadership.
  • Proven leadership and management experience, including leading small teams.
  • Strong professional background in Supply Chain Management and Procurement within manufacturing
  • Experience managing and working with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of implementing and introducing ERP systems.
