Description
Payroll Processing: Process payroll on a regular schedule (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly) for all employees, ensuring that wages, bonuses, and deductions are calculated accurately.
Data Entry and Maintenance: Enter and maintain accurate employee data in payroll systems, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, and benefit deductions.
Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate calculations of tax withholdings (federal, state, and local), and timely submission of payroll tax filings and payments.
Deductions and Benefits: Process and manage employee deductions, including health insurance, retirement contributions, garnishments, and other benefits.
Recordkeeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate payroll records and prepare reports related to payroll data, including summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, and benefits.
Audit and Reconciliation: Review and reconcile payroll reports, ensuring any discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
Employee Inquiries: Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues or concerns related to pay, deductions, or benefits.
Compliance: Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure the company's payroll practices remain compliant.
Year-End Reporting: Assist with preparation of year-end reports such as W-2 forms, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
Profile
ducation: High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred).
Experience: Previous experience in payroll processing, with a strong understanding of payroll systems and software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar).
Skills:
Knowledge of payroll-related laws and regulations.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll software.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Certifications: Payroll certification (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)) is a plus but not required.
