We are looking for a maintenance operator for a key role within our client’s facility in East Lothian. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills in a specialised field.
Working as part of a small, skilled team, your responsibilities will include the maintenance of saw blades and sharp-edge equipment, a critical part of the plant’s success.
This is a full-time, permanent role requiring 40 hours per week, including rotational shifts covering evenings, weekends, and nights. An excellent salary is offered, ranging from £24K-£30K with additional overtime opportunities available.
Key Responsibilities
- Repairing saws to maintain their functionality and efficiency.
- Sharpening and setting saw blades to ensure optimal performance.
- Removing and replacing saw blades as required.
- Welding tools and saws to restore and enhance their performance.
- Straightening and stretching steel saw blades to maintain their effectiveness.
- Operating both manual and computer-controlled tools and equipment to carry out tasks.

- A strong technical aptitude and a passion for practical, hands-on work.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks.
- A commitment to safety and a proactive attitude toward risk management.
- Previous experience in a mechanical or technical role would be advantageous, but we are happy to consider those who are eager to learn.
