Salary: Up to £37,000 per annum

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator/Setter to join a dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical aptitude, hands-on experience with CNC machinery, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role requires managing multiple tasks and ensuring the precision and quality of manufactured parts.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Prepare the CMS Antares machine for operation, including tool and material selection, fixture setup, and machine configuration.
  • Operate the CNC machine to produce parts in line with engineering drawings and work orders, maintaining precision and accuracy.
  • Load and verify CNC programs, adjusting as necessary to optimise machine performance and product quality.
  • Monitor tool wear and replace tools as required to maintain quality and prevent downtime.
  • Perform first-off and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Document production activities accurately, including manufacturing procedure sheets and inspection reports.
  • Troubleshoot machine operation, tool wear, and product quality issues to minimise production disruptions.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on the CNC machine to ensure optimal performance.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of PPE and safe handling of materials and tools.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to enhance process efficiency and product quality.
  • Engage in ongoing training to stay updated with CNC technology and quality assurance practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong technical aptitude and mechanical skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in CNC machining is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in operating and setting up CNC machines, with experience on CMS Antares and Fanuc controllers being advantageous.
