A leading Transportation Recovery Service company is looking for a Commercial Vehicle Technician to join their team.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, including DOT inspections and pre-MOT checks, along with vehicle repairs and fault diagnostics. You will need to apply your mechanical expertise to identify and resolve issues, while recognizing that each vehicle is unique and requires dedicated time and attention to ensure repairs are completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic activities to identify issues and solutions for fleet and customer vehicles.

  • Communicate with drivers to understand vehicle defects.

  • Conduct DOT and pre-MOT inspections, along with required repairs.

  • Mentor and guide apprentice technicians when needed.

  • Ensure timely completion of job cards and service sheets.

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and tidiness in the work area.

What we need from you:

  • Level 3 qualification in heavy vehicle mechanics or significant experience in the role.

  • Proficient in the repair and maintenance of HGV vehicles within the commercial vehicle sector.

  • Valid UK driving license (HGV license is a plus).

  • A positive, "can-do" attitude.
