Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role is responsible for the development and formalisation of the internal controls framework to ensure that the business meets the requirements set out by the Corporate Governance Code 2024.
Duties include;
* Drafting process narratives, risk control matrices and process flow diagrams
* Identification of relevant systems and IT risks and controls, including general IT controls and automated controls and working with the IT team to develop documentation for this framework.
* Implementation of newly identified and formalised controls, holding regular meetings with stakeholders and tracking of progress for implementation timelines
* Resolution of any areas or material weakness or significant risk
* Monitoring of operating effectiveness of controls and tailoring as processes and systems evolve
* Work with various stakeholders to remediate control findings and resolution of audit findings
* Assist with drafting accounting papers on complex transactions, impairment reviews or other related technical accounting items
* Assist with day-to-day management of the audit process, setting up process walkthroughs with relevant stakeholder
This role will not be solely controls focussed, the successful candidate will get involved in other accounting tasks. Therefore, the ideal candidate will be flexible and willing to support in other areas as required.
The successful candidate will be qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent. It is likely that you will have trained in practice and worked within audit, ideally with subsequent industry & commerce experience.
