Our client is looking for a Management Accountant/Finance Business Partner to join their dynamic team in Huntingdon, this role will play a pivotal role in financial management and business decision support at our head office. This position offers the opportunity to engage deeply with business operations and contribute to strategic financial planning.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Produce monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs, including variance analysis and commentaries.
  • Handle monthly journals and balance sheet reconciliations, supporting the preparation of group accounts and analysis.
  • Review and code financial transactions for capital expenditure and intercompany processing.
  • Assist in annual budget preparation and periodic forecasting.
  • Provide support to business divisions in project appraisal, evaluation, and post-implementation analysis.
  • Maintain and improve management accounting processes and systems.
  • Regularly review business division processes and data capture methods, proposing improvements to enhance financial reporting and analysis.
  • Respond to ad hoc information requests from various departments to a high standard.
  • Become a subject matter expert for the relevant business division, proactively obtaining information.
  • Support the year-end audit process by assisting with information gathering and process explanations.
  • Assist other finance departments with general queries regarding GL coding, systems, and division-specific queries.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualification with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounts production role within a commercial environment.
  • Proven ability to produce an accurate set of accounts with strong technical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong commercial acumen.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the confidence and competence to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work under instruction and independently when necessary.
  • Highly organised and capable of working in a fast-paced, pressurised environment.
  • Effective communicator and relationship builder, able to address concerns or issues with senior management.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and experience with group companies (desirable).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics & COINS software (desirable).
