Hybrid: Huntingdon or Peterborough & Home-working

Anglian Water offers a flexible approach, this role provides you the flexibility to work from home and from an Anglian Water office. Your base location will be Lancaster House in Huntingdon or Thorpe Wood House in Peterborough, but travel to either location will be required from time to time.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team here at Anglian Water on a fixed term contract for 12 months. This position will see you hold key responsibility for the following; maintaining compliance with financial controls policy & procedure, escalation of control issues and communicating key financial controls messages across the virtual finance teams for your designated business area.

This exciting role will see the successful candidate play an active role in delivering the business planning and management accounting processes for your designated business area for OPEX and CAPEX, driving continuous improvement of processes, and communicating key messages and timescales to stakeholders. You will be responsible for budget areas of mid-size and complexity.

Using your expert business knowledge, you will provide exemplary process advice, analysis, statutory and regulatory reporting support. You will be the key point of contact for Business Partners and the Management Accounting Manager for the designated business area. Throughout all responsibilities, you will champion the fundamental principles of standardisation, automation, efficiency and compliance, and maximising opportunities through innovation and technology.

What does it take to be a Management Accountant?

  • Qualified Accountant and/or extensive equivalent experience.
  • Previous Management Accountant experience.
  • Understanding and application of modern management accounting techniques.
  • Excellent analytical skills; with the ability to adapt and challenge.
  • Good organisation skills and capable of working towards set deadlines.
  • Good IT and computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong communication skills and able to build excellent relationships with other stakeholders.
