Graduate Accounts Assistant

Huntingdon (requires own transport)

£22,000-£26,000 per annum (depending on experience)

We are working with an investment company based in a rural location close to Huntingdon, who are looking to appoint a career focused and motivated Junior Accounts Assistant to be a key contributor to their finance operations. This role involves processing both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable invoices, playing a crucial role in the payroll process, and maintaining accurate administrative records. 

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Match, code, and enter invoices with correct codes in a timely manner
  • Coordinate weekly payment runs to ensure invoices are paid promptly
  • Dealing with queries / resolving issues
  • Perform bank reconciliations and support monthly close procedures
  • Manage Credit Card paperwork 
  • Assist in monthly inventory adjustments
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of sales invoices and manage petty cash
  • Monitor and assist in the accurate data capture of all employee hours worked in the timekeeping system
  • Perform data entry for various systems and databases
  • Schedule maintenance needs for the housing portfolio and assist in other tasks as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Recent graduate seeking a first accounting position
  • Studying for an accounting qualification (not essential)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
  • High competency in computer usage, with strong knowledge of Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Windows Applications
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and pay excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritise workload
  • Genuine interest in an accounting career
