Job Description: Class 2 Driver - PHS, Cambridgeshire

Start Date: Week commencing 6th January 2025

Location: Cambridgeshire

Shift Pattern:

  • Early morning starts.
  • Initial training with an experienced driver, beginning at 7:00 am for the first few days.
  • Once trained, start times will be from 4:00 am.
  • Shifts are 8-10 hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Class 2 vehicles, similar to council bin lorries.
  • Safely attach bins to the back of the vehicle and tip contents as required.
  • Follow a pre-determined route schedule to complete all collections in a timely manner.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service where interaction is required during collection duties.

Requirements:

  • Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) driving licence with no more than 6 points (no DR or IN endorsements).
  • Current CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
  • A minimum of 6 months of Class 2 driving experience is preferred, but training can be provided for less experienced candidates who demonstrate the right attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Physically fit, as the role involves manual handling of bins.
  • Familiarity with health and safety protocols related to driving and waste management.
  • A reliable, punctual, and professional approach to work.
