Account Manager

Our client, a fantastic electronics supplier based in Huntingdon, is looking for an Account Manager to join a lovely sales team.  The business has strengths in teamwork and product knowledge, and you will develop your technical know-how to the same level whilst boosting customer business. 

As part of the sales team, you will work alongside the technical team to manage and develop relationships with new and existing clients.  You will pursue leads from various sources, including lapsed clients, cold calls, and research.  You will develop a strong understanding of the company’s services and products so that you come across as a credible, reliable partner to the company’s customers. 

Duties will include:

  • Making outbound calls to customers, with the intention to develop business via varying channels
  • Account managing current customer relationships
  • Liaising with the technical team to get to know new products and technologies
  • Learning about the products and technologies to be able to sell to customers
  • Carrying out product demonstrations to customers in the demonstration showroom
  • Being first point of contact for incoming calls and dealing with sales enquiries
  • Processing online and phone orders and payments
  • Creating trade accounts on the system
  • Producing quotations and following up
  • Maintaining customer CRM system
  • Working to team targets
  • Attending trade shows with the sales team when required

You will be self-motivated, be keen to pick up the phone and make outbound calls and be able to prioritise your own workload. 

You will also:

  • Be an effective team member
  • Be keen to build relationships and establish your career within sales/business development
  • Have a good telephone manner and a professional approach to face to face interaction with customers
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Have used in-house systems or CRM
  • Be keen and have the ability to pick up technical language, in order to use this in a sales manner
