Our client, an established renewable energy installation company who specialise in delivering Solar PV Systems for the commercial sector, require a Solar Design Engineer to join their rapidly expanding team.
The ideal candidate will hold experience in design engineering within the renewable sector, working with either Solar PV, EV or Battery Storage. You must have experience in using PVSol.
In this role you will be designing commercial roof top and ground mount solar systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- System Design: Develop detailed electrical and structural designs for commercial solar PV systems using industry-standard software.
- Electrical Engineering: Design AC and DC electrical systems, including single-line diagrams, panel schedules, conduit layouts, and grounding systems, ensuring compliance with industry code.
- Permitting & Compliance: Prepare technical drawings and documentation for permit applications, interconnection approvals, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaboration: Work closely the management team to ensure smooth project execution from design to commissioning.
- Cost Estimation & Optimization: Assist in selecting appropriate equipment, materials, and design approaches to maximize system efficiency while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
- Quality Assurance: Review installation plans, verify equipment specifications, and ensure adherence to best practices in solar system design.
