Finance Manager

Robert Half are pleased to be partnering with a highly acquisitive scaling business in Huntingdon who are looking for their next Finance Manager. This role will act as the manager to a growing Finance team and report directly into the MD. The successful candidate will be an ambitious, driven Accountant looking to join and develop within a fast paced progressive environment.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide management, training and leadership for the finance team
• Day to day supervisory responsibility for financial functions including management of both Sales and Purchase Ledger and Credit Control
• Assist in recruitment, selection, training and promotion of financial staff
• Maintenance of financial ledgers and accounting processes including overseeing the finance team's work daily train team to correct errors and post corrections as needed
• Maintain the chart of accounts in line with management reporting requirements
• Maintain the Fixed Assets, depreciation, prepayment and accruals and stock, as well as other finance agreements with some peer review from the external Finance Director:
• Ensure all Audit recommendations are reviewed with the Finance Director and adopted where appropriate
• Preparation of Monthly P&L & Balance Sheet inc ytd/ monthly profit and loss
• Variance analysis and reforecasting
• Statutory account production and implementation of financial controls
• Managing the audit
• Ensure robust procedures and framework, as agreed by the Finance Director is in place for purchasing of goods by the company
• Implement and improve existing internal controls, with guidance from the Finance Director, so that the company may more accurately manage customers payments
• Cash management and treasury duties as well as overseeing payroll and payrun processes
• Ensure bank accounts are reconciled and assist the credit control reporting
• Prepare an annual budget in line with the business vision document for the proceeding financial year - Research, preparation and submission of budgets - with guidance and assistance from the Finance Director and Managing Director
• Monitor budget monthly in line with actual figures and report on variances with input from the Finance Director
• Monitor monthly budgets by department with review by MD and disseminate to budget holders
• Create and maintain a forecast, based on budget and changes in the financial year, revised costing and revised sales to be reviewed by the Finance Director
• Maintain a register of all capital expenditure with approval from the appropriate authorised director
• Assist in the preparation and implementation of tender documents and purchasing practices with guidance from the Finance Director
• Ad hoc modelling as agreed by the MD and peer reviewed by the FD
