ATD Assembly/Test Technician
Encocamare recruitingAssembly/Testing Technician,to work in their Test Lab inHuntingdon, Cambridgeshire;certifying our crash test dummies and the various parts for use before delivery to the major car manufacturers around the world.
Crash test dummies are more professionally known as Anthropomorphic Test Devices (ATDs). You will be responsible for undertaking the physical testing of our ATD parts. This could be a full-sized dummy or simply a knee ligament which is used for inverse testing in the automotive industry. The work involved includes both the testing before assembly and the instrumentation calibration for the sensors that record data when the ATDs are being used by our customers. All dummies are certified before they are shipped from Huntingdon and return at regular intervals for re-calibration.
There is a wide range of job functions, which will include:
- Undertake the testing facility work schedule actively planning for testing, work instructions, training, etc.
- Undertake tests, analyse data and report writing/preparation of results as required.
- Undertake research into test types, standards and material information as required.
- Undertake instrumentation calibration as required.
- Assist in the evaluation and testing of new products and materials. Participate in relevant product development projects.
- To co-operate with project engineers, and people from other departments to deliver test programmes and ensure they meet the project requirements.
- Ensure the Equipment Calibration is undertaken and accurate at all times.
- Support the Certification of relevant products.
- Deliver the preparation of samples for both customers and in-house testing.
- Assist with the preparation of job packs and drawings for production purposes.
Maintaining the 5-S principles in the laboratory.
To adhere to health and safety regulations (including adequate knowledge of COSHH, MSDS, PPE)
To plan and undertake specific projects.
Create, Review and sign-off test reports and CofCs .
