Encocamare looking for aFEA Project Engineerto work in our newest divisionCellbond Impact Solutions.Encocam are market leaders in automotive safety, producing crash test barriers and crash test dummies (ATD's) at our sites in Huntingdon.


You would be using your engineering (and FEA) skills to maximise commercial opportunities relating to impact testing and energy absorption using passive technology, primarily, but not exclusively i.e. aluminium honeycomb. You will be the technical point of contact responsible for offering technical solutions to our sales team in a timely manner.


Key responsibilities and tasks:-


Create engineering drawings that specify the design and assembly of the impact mitigation solutions.


Develop FE models for existing and new products and validate the test models using real world physical test data.


Validate FE models against the test results where required.


Support development projects by carrying out FEA where necessary and suggest technical solutions using your expertise knowledge and experience.


Ensure that all CAD meets the company standard is stored in the PDM Vault.


Follow the requirements of DV-10 and DV-14 (department guide and project form)


When necessary, the role will also require to carryout physical testing.


Support to improve test methods, presentation and analysis of data.


Produce technical documents, reports and presentations for both internal and external use.


Provide technical support to sales, customers and production. Ensure a close working relationship with sales making sure that customer needs are met.


Ensure that each customer enquiry has a TR (technical report).


Ensure effective communication and coordination with internal and external customers.


Ensure that development work is documented and stored in an appropriate location.


Identify and source Regulations and Standards to support product development.


Create, review and sign off test reports and CofCs.


To adhere to Health and Safety regulations (including adequate knowledge of COSHH, MSDS, PPE)
