Reed Further Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Carpentry Lecturer to join a college based in Cambridge.

This exciting role will involve the design and delivery of the Carpentry courses to a wide range of learners, in both practical and theoretical settings. The job role will also include contributing to the continued development of the Department, providing tutorial support for learners, and carrying out the associated administrative tasks connected with the post.

The successful candidate will need to have relevant industry experience in the Construction sector and be able to demonstrate in depth subject knowledge with a level 2 vocational qualification in Carpentry as a minimum.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver high quality teaching and learning within the Construction department
  • Develop and maintain teaching materials including handouts, assignments, booklists, assessment papers and electronic resources
  • Carry out moderation, Assessment and verification
  • Undertake tutorial responsibilities
  • Assist in the recruitment and admission of new students
  • Track and review students progress and maintain student records

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A minimum level 2 qualification in carpentry
  • A teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one
  • Experience in the construction industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience training whether within education or industry
  • Current health & safety knowledge for the industry
  • Good IT skills.
