Job description: Venn Group have been approached by a Local Authority in the East Midlands to recruit a Benefits Officer with strong experience with Temporary Accommodation. The vacancy will be running for 3 months with a possible extension.

Duties:

  • Responsible for the assessment of all Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims
  • Responsible for all tenure types including local authority, private LHA, housing association, hostels and boarders
  • Assessed complex claims including students, self employed, private landlords, private tenants and persons from abroad
  • Handled all submissions and reconsiderations
  • Processed new claims, change of circumstances and change of address
  • Dealt with ATLAS cases
  • Handled any overpayments / excess payments
  • Liaised with internal and external parties
  • Handled Customers over the telephone, via email and face to face
  • System used: NEC

The successful candidate will require experience with Supported Housing.

Hourly Rate: Negotiable
