Opus People Solutions are looking for a 1st Line Support IT Technician in Huntingdon.The successful candidate will serve as technical support for Cambridge and Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA), helping team members in various departments troubleshoot technology issues. You will be maintaining computer equipment and keeping equipment updated as well as enforcing policies to promote data security and training other employees how to remedy basic computer technical issues. Responsibilities include:

  • Manage installations and support for CPCA users and its members
  • Provide remote reactive and preventative maintenance for CPCA Systems
  • Handle calls, emails, and support cases for customers while keeping them updated on progress
  • Resolve issues remotely or via onsite
  • Participate in training activities including certification as required
  • Contribute to the development of colleagues, systems, processes, procedures
  • Configuring new to CPCA devices to the agreed Standards
  • Creation and administration of CPCA Users inline with Audit controls (Mover's leavers and joiners)
  • Undertake daily checks on systems such as Backups, and network monitoring
  • To carry out the test schedule of our Disaster recovery procedure

To be considered, you will have:

  • Demonstrated capability working in a technical role.
  • Experience with remote support software.
  • Desktop PC / Laptop troubleshooting experience
  • Proven excellence in customer service
  • Ability to build trust with new/existing customers
  • Experience in using web-based applications such as Microsoft 365 etc.
  • Base understanding of networking principles
  • Strong customer service skills
