Our Midlands based client is looking for a proficient Float Legal Secretary to work within their Business Support Team.

THE ROLE

The successful Float Legal Secretary will be flexible as a member of the wider support team and assist with work as required, co-operating with peers and others, ensuring a co-operative team environment, responsibilities include:

  • Provide comprehensive typing, secretarial, and administrative support to the team and wider firm.
  • Assist with digital dictation and administrative tasks.
  • Transcribe and prepare correspondence and documents using audiotyping and word processing.
  • Operate the case management system, storing documents electronically and organising them appropriately.
  • Manage administrative routines including scanning, faxing, printing, binding, and photocopying.
  • Efficiently manage client/matter files, including filing, file opening, client care letters, and archiving.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, appointments, and diary management.
  • Monitor compliance and Lexcel requirements, conduct company checks, and individual AML checks.
  • Provide professional and friendly support to clients in person and over the telephone.
  • Assist the Operations team with various tasks.
  • Collaborate with the Business Support and Operations Team on routine and ad hoc projects.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all company and client information.
THE CANDIDATE

The ideal Float Legal Secretary will be a detail-oriented and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, skills and experience required:

  • Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Typing speed of at least 65 wpm with 90% accuracy.
  • Excellent attention to detail, including spelling and punctuation.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • A problem-solving mindset with a "can-do" attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
