Our client, based in South Cambridge, is looking for a Warehouse Manager to join their growing business. This is a permanent, full-time role (37.5hrs per week). Reporting to the MD, the Warehouse Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, fire marshal duties, and site health and safety. Due to the rural location, candidates will need to have their own transport.
Responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining a safe working environment including managing building facilities, air con, fire and intruder systems, compactor, and forklift services.
- First Aider and Fire Marshal.
- First responder for out of hours callouts.
- Ensuring daily machine checks are carried out.
- Organising counterbalance & narrow aisle forklift training and maintenance.
- Liaising with Sales office to ensure customer orders are met.
- Monitoring any customer complaints.
- Allocating orders to warehouse staff.
- Liaising with couriers to arrange collection.
- Providing packaging and delivery quotations, picking and packing of customer orders, and dispatching export customer orders.
- Creating commercial invoices.
- Arranging collections, checking returned stock and advising of any damage.
- Carrying out stock movements in the system.
- Managing the replenishment of shelf stock.
- Organising and overseeing stocktakes and rolling stock checks.
- Ordering packaging and monitoring stock levels.
- Managing recruitment, training, and discipline procedures.
- Monitoring staff holiday and absence.
Candidates will need to have the following skills and experience:
- Previous warehouse management experience.
- Strong team working ethic
- Able to complete manual handling activities including heavy lifting
- A current fork-lift licence
- Good organisational skills
- Good communication abilities.
