Imagine being part of a team that helps rural communities in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough feel more connected, supported, and empowered. This charity has been around for over 100 years - working closely with local people to bring positive change to villages and small towns. Whether it's helping someone find the right support service, learn a new digital skill, or access online healthcare - their work is all about making life better in the places people call home.

They're now on the lookout for a Digital Inclusion & Community Engagement Officer

someone who's just as passionate about community wellbeing as they are about digital inclusion.

What you'll be doing:

This isn't your average desk job. You'll be out and about (and online), meeting people, solving problems, and building real connections. Here's a flavour of what you'll get stuck into:

  • Promoting digital skills - Help people get more confident with online services and tech, whether it's setting up an email or navigating NHS apps.
  • Write engaging content and help promote local projects via social media, newsletters, and the charity's website.
  • Regularly visit Community Hubs and groups, building trust with locals so they know who to turn to when they need support.
  • Recruit and support local volunteers (Digital Champions) so they can pass on the digital know-how to their own communities.
  • Work with local organisations to help get devices and internet access to people who need it most.
  • Offer advice, make referrals, and troubleshoot issues so people get the right help quickly.
  • Join forces with councils, health services and other partners to amplify digital inclusion across the region.
  • Salary: £25,000 pro rata (based on 28 hours/week)
  • Contract: Fixed term to 31 Oct 2025 (with a chance of extension)
  • Location: Home-based, but you'll need to be out and about in South Cambridgeshire regularly
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Holidays: 25 days plus bank hols (pro rata)
  • Other perks: Home working allowance, flexible working, workplace pension, and lots of personal development support

What you bring:

You don't need to have all the answers, just the passion to help others and the drive to keep learning. We're looking for someone who is:

  • Confident with social media, digital tools and basic troubleshooting
  • Friendly, approachable and a great communicator
  • Experienced in working with community groups, volunteers or in support roles
  • Super organised, proactive, and happy to juggle tasks and priorities
  • Based in or near South Cambridgeshire and happy to travel locally

Bonus points if you've worked in community development, care, health, or marketing. But more important is your ability to connect with people and your commitment to making a difference.
