Electro Mechanical Assembler

£28,000 to £30,000

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small company with excellent growth potential and be able to contribute to and benefit from this growth. Brand new permanent position for a new company based in Huntingdon.

The role will involve working within the Engineering team to build and test our clients’ products, requiring a hands-on approach to identifying build issues and suggesting and implementing improvements to the build process.

The role will also include assisting in Machine Learning training and assisting in verification and validation testing of the products.

Travel will be involved in the role, as there will be requirements to visit our other sites, and some customer sites.

Main Duties for the Electro Mechanical Assembler:

  • Assemble and test products at our clients Huntingdon facility.
  • Fault find any production failures.
  • Implement changes and improvements to the build process as required, with the assistance of the engineering team.
  • Monitor stock levels, including scrap and shrinkage.
  • Quality Control of finished goods.
  • Work to assembly procedures and identify opportunities for improvement where necessary.
  • Rework and fault find any customer returns.
  • Logging of customer returns.
  • Assist with verification and validation testing.
  • Assist with training data models by running samples through the product.

Skills and Experience for the Electro Mechanical Assembler:

  • Proven work experience in an Electro-mechanical manufacturing environment, working within box build is a plus.
  • Experience of fault-finding electronics systems to a board level (board swaps to fault find).
  • Able to solder wires and large components.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and strong self-motivation.
  • Detail orientated.
  • Skilled at working effectively within small teams while incorporating wider external resources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be willing to travel.

Qualifications for the Electro Mechanical Assembler:

Our client is a looking for an individual who wants to grow in the field of Engineering, below is an idea of the skills we would like to see:

  • Attitude and willingness to learn is more important than formal qualifications
  • 3-4 years of work experience within an Electro-mechanical manufacturing environment
  • Apprenticeship in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering
  • BTEC Level 2/3, or HNC/HND in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering, or similar

  • Flexible working hours Monday to Friday
  • 23 days holiday plus bank holidays
