We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 contractor on a major highways infrastructure project in the Cambridgeshire area. This position offers a hybrid working model, with three days on-site or in the office and two days working from home, providing both flexibility and hands-on project involvement.
About the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of this large-scale highways infrastructure project. Your expertise will be key in ensuring cost control, efficient budgeting, and successful project delivery. Previous experience working on similar highways projects is highly desired, and a strong understanding of NEC contracts is essential.
Responsibilities for Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- Overseeing and managing project costs, budgets, and forecasts
- Administering NEC contracts and ensuring compliance with all contractual requirements
- Collaborating closely with the project team and client to ensure financial targets are met
- Conducting regular site visits to monitor project progress and address any financial concerns
- Preparing and negotiating final accounts
- Providing mentorship and guidance to junior team members where necessary
Requirements for Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, ideally on highways or large infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and contract administration
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with the project team
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Hybrid working flexibility with a commitment to three days on-site or in the office
