The Technical Officer will join a well-established Technical Department and be given lots of support to get fully up to speed over the first few months.
The main duties of the role will revolve around:
- Driving and managing new innovation and product development
- Managing and running the product trials and product testing programme, both in-house and external trials
- Project management
- Product stewardship and regulatory and quality matters
- Providing a wide range of technical information and technical support to customers and endusers
- Liaising with the business including the commercial, marketing and quality teams
- Assisting with technical specifications and product compliance
Candidate requirements:
- Degree or similar qualification in agriculture, horticulture, biology, or plant science.
- Previous experience in a technical or agronomy role or within a technical team
- Some experience in development work perhaps including running horticultural, glasshouse, or agricultural trials - helpful
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise a varied work load
- Able to work under pressure, especially at times of peak demand
- Good presentation skills
- Computer literate
- Driving licence
- Willingness to travel within UK and sometimes overseas to shows, conferences, launches
