We are currently working in partnership with a Charity based in the East of England, who are recruiting for Housing Support Workers on a temporary to permanent, or permanent basis across different locations in Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire.

The positions are due to start immediately, with the potential to go permanent after the successful temporary period. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable up to £15.40 via an Umbrella company and the salary for the permanent role is £24,382.80.

The ideal candidate will have an Enhanced DBS dated within the last three years - or be happy to have one carried out - drive and have access to their own vehicle, and have proven experience of Supported Housing duties.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Conducting visits to a caseload of around 9 clients with complex needs - including homelessness, substance misuse and mental health
  • Carrying out risk assessments - including health and safety and fire risk checks
  • Assisting with Housing and welfare benefit claims and application processes
  • Signposting clients to external support agencies
  • Develop support programmes and monitor progress
  • Promote independence and form trusting relationships with clients

Experience required:

  • Experience working with vulnerable people
  • Experience or Knowledge of the benefits system e.g., Housing Benefits etc.
  • Experience in working within boundaries, appreciating the importance of confidentiality

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Ability to write clear and concise reports
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week
  • Rota’d shifts Monday - Friday of 8:00 - 4:00, 9:00 - 5:00, 10:00 - 6:00, working roughly 1 in 5 weekends with the Monday and Friday off of that week
