My public sector client is looking for an experienced and hands on procurement professional to join them for a period of 2 years. Working as the Procurement Project Lead, your role will be to support and deliver major procurement projects as well as take responsibility for the following:

  • Implementation of the updates required to comply with the Procurement Act 2023.
  • Draft and Implement a Social Value in Procurement Policy.
  • Create and deliver training programmes for budget managers and officers to ensure compliance with, and understanding of, the changes made to procurement processes.
  • Day to day support of the procurement activity, as required. This could be developing existing procurement processes, considering alternative routes to market, and managing the procurement process from project start up through to award.
  • Working with all members of staff from start, through to contract award on procurements

In addition to the above you will also need to manage and build stakeholder relationships and support with the capture of procurement data and contract management data.

This is a fixed term role for 2 years and will require some attendance to the office in Cambridgeshire each week, however this can be flexible. You will need to be able to demonstrate experience in public sector procurement and ideally also have knowledge of the new Procurement Act. The salary range is £40,633 - £45,489.
