New requirement for a security cleared Technical Author (or Technical Writer) who has a specialization in physical infrastructure design, specifically focusing on networks, storage solutions, and disaster recovery systems. This role will involve creating clear, accurate, and comprehensive technical documentation for complex infrastructure solutions, ensuring that stakeholders, including engineers, architects, and clients, can understand and implement the designs with confidence. The successful candidate will have familiarity with cloud technologies and a suitable technical knowledge.
The role is either offered in Cambridgeshire or Middlesex on a hybrid basis, with the possibility of being predominantly remote.
Offered on an initial 6 months contract, the role has been deemed as Inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and Maintain Technical Documentation: Develop, review, and maintain high-quality documentation for physical infrastructure designs, including network configurations, storage architecture, and disaster recovery plans.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts: Work closely with network engineers, storage architects, and disaster recovery specialists to understand the technical aspects of the systems and produce clear and accessible documentation.
- Design Documentation: Specialising in Archimate (or similar) support the generation of detailed diagrams, schematics, and flowcharts to visually represent physical infrastructure designs, network topologies, storage configurations, and disaster recovery setups.
- Document Best Practices and Standards: Outline industry best practices, configuration guidelines, and compliance requirements for networks, storage, and disaster recovery systems.
- Technical Writing for Multiple Audiences: Produce documentation tailored to various audiences, including engineers, technical support teams, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Version Control and Updates: Ensure that documentation is regularly updated to reflect changes in technology, infrastructure, or best practices.
- Conduct Reviews: Participate in document reviews, ensuring accuracy and alignment with technical specifications and organizational standards.
- Ensure Clarity and Accessibility: Write clear, concise, and structured documentation that can be easily understood by technical and non-technical teams.
- Support Disaster Recovery Documentation: Record and maintain disaster recovery documentation, including recovery processes, failover mechanisms, and business continuity strategies.
