They are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work across the school with individuals and small groups, covering absences on a daily, weekly, and termly basis. The role involves supporting students' learning under the guidance of a teacher and assisting with their personal care needs.

Job Description:

The teaching assistant position at the SEN school in the Andover area involves a range of duties aimed at supporting both students and teachers. You will provide tailored support to students, including those with complex learning difficulties, ensuring they receive the individual attention and guidance necessary for their academic development. This will include one-on-one assistance as well as small group activities, creating an environment where every student feels supported and encouraged to achieve success.

Key Responsibilities:

-          Ensure a safe and secure environment within the school and during extracurricular activities.

-          Implement school policies as outlined in documentation and directed by the Headteacher.

-          Supervise and manage student behaviour throughout the school day, including lunchtime and breaks (or as permitted by working hours), in line with school policies and individual behaviour management plans.

Requirements:

-          Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within an educational setting is desirable.

-          Experience working with SEN/SEND students is an advantage.

-          Enthusiastic about bringing creativity and energy into the classroom.

-          Able to challenge, motivate, and inspire young learners.

-          Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage priorities effectively.

-          Committed to safeguarding and promoting equality.

-          Persistent, patient, and with a good sense of humour.
