A 12 month FTC is available for an Assistant company accountant for a global manufacturing company at their site in Hyde, Stockport.
With immediate availability, you will be joining a dynamic finance team to support the company's general accounting duties.
You must be AAT Level 4 or equivalently qualified and have strong Microsoft Excel knowledge. Ideally you will have some manufacturing background experience for a good appreciation of the business/industry type environment. Experience of ERP systems is also required as is an accurate, organised and attention to detail mindset.
You will be assisting the team with:
- Reviewing of all expenditure notes, requesting amendments, prepayments, or accruals.
- Closure of sales ledgers & purchase ledgers each month.
- Reviewing and maintaining the accuracy and consistency of the aged debtor, creditor, and PO prepayments reports.
- Ensure all purchase ledger items are complete to enable daily posting.
- Revalue all currency accounts monthly.
- Liaise with department heads to obtain approval for supplier payments.
- Ensuring there are adequate levels of currency to cover supplier payments.
- Arranging payments via the online banking system, including supplier currency payments, BACS payments and Statutory payments.
- Reviewing of capex, keeping a detailed log on each item.
- Review off all nominal & balance sheet accounts, resolving any variances assisted by the finance team.
- Assisting with yearly audits.
- Preparation, review & submission of monthly board papers.
- Assisting with budgeting & forecasting.
Salary on offer is up to 35,000 Dependent on Experience and the contract will be a minimum of a 12 month Fixed Term.
