The Role
As an Income Protection Claims Specialist, you'll assess complex claims, ensure compliance, and support team members. Key Responsibilities of the Income Protection Claims Specialist:
- Assess Income Protection claims, adhering to industry-leading practices and service level agreements
- Draft and issue claims decision letters and other correspondence
- Liaise with strategic underwriters, management, reinsurers, and other stakeholders
- Support and mentor team members, sharing best practices and medical knowledge
- Participate in process improvement and system testing initiatives
Required knowledge and experience for the Income Protection Claims Specialist role:
- Broad experience in assessing and managing Income Protection claims
- Experience dealing with the Financial Ombudsman Service on claims-related matters
- Good working relationship with reinsurers
- Confident presentation and training skills
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
