About the SEN English Teacher Role:

As an SEN English Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering tailored English education to students with special educational needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging English lessons that cater to the diverse needs of SEN students.
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress, adapting teaching strategies to ensure individual learning goals are met.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and confidence.
  • Utilising a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and providing regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Participating in professional development opportunities to stay abreast of best practices in SEN education.
  • Contributing to the wider school community and participating in extracurricular activities as appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience for the SEN English teacher:

The ideal SEN English Teacher will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialisation in English.
  • Proven experience teaching English to students with special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of SEN best practices and the ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly.
