About the SEN English Teacher Role:
As an SEN English Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering tailored English education to students with special educational needs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging English lessons that cater to the diverse needs of SEN students.
- Assessing and monitoring student progress, adapting teaching strategies to ensure individual learning goals are met.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs).
- Creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and confidence.
- Utilising a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress and providing regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
- Participating in professional development opportunities to stay abreast of best practices in SEN education.
- Contributing to the wider school community and participating in extracurricular activities as appropriate.
Qualifications and Experience for the SEN English teacher:
The ideal SEN English Teacher will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialisation in English.
- Proven experience teaching English to students with special educational needs.
- Strong understanding of SEN best practices and the ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
