As a Trainee Enforcement Officer, you will embark on a structured development programme to gain the skills, knowledge, and certifications required to carry out enforcement activities. You will assist experienced officers in recovering debts, enforcing court orders, and liaising with clients and debtors. This role is ideal for those looking to build a career in enforcement while receiving comprehensive training and support.
Key Responsibilities
Training and Development
- Participate in training programmes to gain an understanding of enforcement laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Shadow experienced Enforcement Officers during field visits to gain practical experience.
- Work towards achieving the required certification/licence to operate as an Enforcement Officer (e.g., Enforcement Agent Certification).
Debt Recovery Support
- Assist in the recovery of outstanding debts through field visits, phone calls, and written correspondence.
- Support the preparation and delivery of notices, payment plans, and warrants.
- Learn to negotiate repayment arrangements with debtors.
Customer Interaction
- Build communication and interpersonal skills to handle challenging situations professionally and respectfully.
- Understand how to assess debtor circumstances and identify vulnerable individuals.
- Develop techniques to de-escalate confrontational scenarios.
Administrative Support
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of enforcement activities, payments, and interactions.
- Learn to use case management systems to update and track progress on accounts.
- Support the preparation of reports and documentation for audits or legal proceedings.
Compliance and Legal Adherence
- Operate under the guidance of experienced officers to ensure all activities comply with relevant regulations, including the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act (TCEA).
- Learn to apply company policies and procedures in line with industry best practices.
Collaboration and Teamwork
- Work closely with team members to achieve recovery goals.
- Provide support during enforcement operations, including managing logistics and documentation.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement discussions.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience
- GCSEs or equivalent (required).
- Previous experience in customer service, security, or a related field (advantageous but not required).
- Willingness to undertake necessary training and certifications.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good organisational and time-management abilities.
