Mechanical Fitter
Location: Coalville, Leicestershire
Up to £40k basic OT Bonus (realistic earning of £55k)
Days Monday to Thursday with optional OT on Fridays paid at x1.5
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Mechanic / Plant Fitter to join our dynamic team!
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation on heavy industry machinery and plant equipment by carrying out preventative maintenance, attending to machine breakdowns, and troubleshooting faults. Your contributions will be vital to minimizing downtime and ensuring that production continues efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct preventative maintenance on pre-cast machinery/plant
- Attend to machine breakdowns, carrying out repairs and changeovers efficiently to minimize downtime
- Troubleshoot defects and carry out necessary repairs
- Ensure the supply of essential parts, ordering parts when required
- Update records and maintenance logs regularly
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of all working areas
- Perform fabrication work when required
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and good working practices
- Assist management with other reasonable requests to support departmental and company objectives

Essential Criteria:
- Heavy Plant / Machinery maintenance experience is essential
- Knowledge of auto-electrics, engines, transmission, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems
- Hardworking and conscientious, with the ability to use initiative to resolve issues without constant supervision
- Ability to work flexible hours, including later shifts and weekends on the odd occasion when required
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good understanding of Health & Safety protocols
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable Criteria:
- Sound knowledge of hydraulics
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles
- Welding certification
