Audit & Accounts Senior Job Vacancy

We're delighted to be recruiting into a fantastic opportunity for a qualified individual to join a highly successful accounting practice as an Audit & Accounts Senior in Ilford, East London. You will act as the main point of contact for your assigned clients, collaborating closely with the relevant team and managers. Your responsibilities will include managing a varied client portfolio, collaborating with other audit and accounts managers and playing a key role in assigning client tasks, ensuring timely and budget-friendly completion.

The successful post holder will also provide valuable mentorship to the junior team, supporting their professional development. You'll be encouraged and supported to offer creative business acumen too; enhancing the client experience, optimising internal processes, and promoting the wellbeing of the team.

What are we looking for?

  • ACCA/ACA or CA qualified or QBE.
  • Some experience in mentoring junior colleagues, reviewing work and providing constructive criticism and training.
  • Oversight of the preparation of statutory accounts, management accounts, tax returns, payroll and VAT.
  • Significant knowledge and experience in the provision of external audit from planning through to completion.
  • Demonstrable history of career progression in accountancy practice with knowledge and experience of cloud-based systems and strategy.
  • A proven record of accomplishment of developing new and profitable revenue streams.
  • Technically proficient in all areas of accountancy and audit.
  • An entrepreneurial, can-do attitude to identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Job Purpose

  • Supervise a portfolio of limited company clients with a large associated fee income.
  • Assigning tasks to team members, reviewing accounts and supporting documents.
  • Addressing daily client inquiries, and actively participating in a management team focused on enhancing the efficiency and mentorship within the accounts department.
  • Manage budgeting and work in progress for the client portfolio, conduct weekly meetings and reporting sessions with Directors.
  • Ensure up to date knowledge of the latest accounting and tax developments.
  • Business development.
  • Showcase skills in and experience in accounting IT.
  • Provide general accounting and corporate tax compliance and advisory services.
  • VAT and personal tax submissions and advice.
