Group Financial Controller

Financial Controller required for SME Venture capital business
London based fast growing venture capital business investing in SMEs and start ups with 80 employees at present with a portfolio spread across IT, Fintech, SAAS, AI, and online Pharma. London HQ is near to St Katherines dock.
My client is about to embark on a growth phase of acquisitions.
The directors expect revenue to increase from c £10m to c £50m within 3 years.
The company now wishes to recruit a Group Financial Controller. Permanent role office based. This is an excellent opportunity to join this business at a critical time.
Candidate spec:
Qualified accountant.
IT industry company experience (beneficial)
Experience in contracted revenue business
Real commercial responsibility and delivery needed (not been in a large organisational structure just concentrating on reporting)
Strong character: used to managing cash flow and dealing with suppliers and other creditors.
Up to date technically: IFRS and UK GAAP.
Liaising with and reporting to banks, auditors and external investors as well as directors.
Key responsibilities:
Timely reporting of accounts and KPIs
Management of existing finance team (6 people) order processing, credit control, billing functions.
Review adequacy of current accounting and billing systems and implement a system update if required.
Take control of acquired businesses and ensure adequate consistent accounting procedures in place.
- Developing monthly management accounts and MI to suit the needs of the business including financial modelling, project appraisals and scenario planning
- Financial modelling experience
Experience needed:
Minimum 10 years Strong technical accounting knowledge, including experience of using Sage, Xero and Quickbooks. There will be a need to rationalise the number of platforms used.
M&A experience
Good people management skills, having managed a small team.
Able to multi-task handling a broad range of tasks both detailed and big-picture.
Ability to work effectively at speed and under pressure, whilst maintaining attention to detail.
Good business acumen, convincing communication skills
Excellent organisational and time management skills with ability to manage and meet tight deadlines enthusiastically.
Charismatic personality to mentor and support the finance team members.
Ensure robust cash flow management and forecasting.
- Develop and maintain relationships with other department heads to ensure the Finance team has full visibility of ongoing activities.
- Adhoc analysis and modelling as and when required by senior management.
