Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

SRM have partnered with a SME construction group to support with a pivotal finance hire. We are seeking a construction experienced, Senior Bookkeeper, with strong CIS experience to join our client on a permanent basis.

Duties

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash flow management.
  • Oversee and process monthly CIS returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and support the preparation of management accounts.
  • Reconcile project costs and liaise with project managers for financial tracking.
  • Collaborate with external accountants to prepare for year-end audits.
  • Utilise Xero to maintain and update the company’s accounting systems.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial processes.

Requirements

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a bookkeeping role, with significant exposure to the construction sector.
  • CIS Knowledge: Proven experience managing CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) returns.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Xero is essential.
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy and precision in financial reporting.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with colleagues, contractors, and clients.
