Are you an experienced and dynamic leader with a passion for managing school operations? A Primary School in Chingford (London) are seeking a skilled School Business Manager to join the team and take the strategic lead in the administration, finance, facilities, and learning support services of the school. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in a vibrant and forward-thinking educational environment.

Job Role

As the School Business Manager, you will be a key member of the school's leadership team, responsible for overseeing the efficient management of the school's support services. You will play a pivotal role in advising the leadership team, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with financial and legal requirements. This role is crucial to maintaining the smooth operation of the school and supporting our mission to provide an outstanding education to our students.

Responsibilities
Lead and manage all administrative, financial, and support services within the school.
Oversee the school's budget, including preparation, monitoring, and financial reporting to the leadership team and governing body.
Develop and implement effective policies, systems, and procedures to enhance school operations.
Ensure compliance with legal, health, and safety regulations across the school site.
Manage the school's facilities, including site maintenance, security, and ICT networks.
Provide advice and recommendations to the leadership team on financial planning, investment, and strategic development.
Lead and motivate support staff, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
Maximize income through external funding opportunities and ensure best value in procurement and service provision.
Promote the school within the local community, building positive relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, and external agencies.

Essential Experience
Proven experience in managing financial, administrative, and operational functions within a school or similar setting.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and working with diverse groups of people.
Solid understanding of budget management, financial reporting, and compliance with legal and health & safety requirements.
Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures to improve efficiency.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to advise and report to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
Proficient in using modern information management systems, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

Desirable Experience
Management training or experience in a similar role within an educational environment.
Experience with external funding bids and income generation.
Understanding of employment law and human resources management.
Experience in facilities management, including site maintenance and ICT systems management.
Ability to work with statistics and provide clear, concise forecasting reports.
