Chef de Partie

Permanent, full-time role (37.5 hrs per week)

Salary: 28,000 - 31,000 (depending on experience)

East London (accessible by public transport)

  • Hours worked will be within the 7am- 6pm time-frame so no evening shifts for a better work-life balance.
  • Working five days out of seven on a rota basis, to include weekends (no more than 1 in 3 weekends).

Key responsibilities:

  • Preparing relevant hot and cold foods such as the three main meals of the day (breakfast, lunch and supper), soups, main meals, salads, sandwiches, cold & hot sweets etc. prior to food service.
  • Work to set Health & Safety and Food Safety policies and procedures.
  • Build good relationships with all users of the catering service not limited to patients, visitors, staff, commercial tenants, delegates and contractors.
  • Be a client-facing representative of the catering offer, promoting an inclusive, friendly attitude to all catering service users.

The ideal candidate:

  • Will either hold or obtain within 1 month of commencement of employment a Level 2 Foundation certificate in Food Hygiene.
  • Will hold at least C&G 7061/2 or NVQ equivalent.
  • Will have up to date knowledge of modern cooking procedures and an ability to demonstrate good food safety best practice.
  • Will have experience of cooking food to meet specific nutritional needs of patients and knowledge of special diets, dietary requirements and allergens.
  • Will have good self-organisational skills and the ability to set own tasks in relation to food production.
  • Will be happy to have a DBS check processed.
