James Lewis are currently assisting a medium sized M&E Contractor in their search to add an Electrical Project Manager to the team. Established for near on 50years, they have developed a strong reputation for specialising in the design and delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Heating services to clients across London and the South East. Their projects are quite varied, but residential is without doubt their main vertical. Other sectors include education, student accommodation and elements of commercial and retirement living.

This specific project consists of a new build residential development in Redbridge Boroughandentails a mixture of 1st and 2nd fix, along with testing and commissioning withan M&E value of 10m.

The successful Electrical Project Manager will need to:

  • Demonstrate successful delivery of multi-storey residential developments
  • Be responsible for designing the programme and delivering it in a timely manner (this is a key requirement and needs to be clearly evidenced in your CV)
  • Manage the Procurement process, from sourcing materials, negotiating contracts and evaluating vendor proposals
  • Manage the finances and variation accounts, health and safety as well as providing a snag free delivery
  • Be client facing and as such be comfortable with client liaison/being the main point of contact
  • Ensure successful handover with final accounts and that all O&Ms are completed
  • Demonstrate a proven track record in managing sub-contractors and their delivery

To be considered you will require a strong management style, ability to form effective working relationships both externally and internally, be an excellent communicator, a problem-solver and an all-round good leader. Please note that previous UK experience on large-scale residential developments is essential, along with having a relevant electrical qualification and background in construction. Candidates with experience focussed predominantly on one-off individual residential projects will unfortunately be deemed unsuitable.
