Building Surveyor job in South East London with a reputable international Architectural Practice, focused on heritage and conservation projects. The role offers a salary of up to 49,000, 25 days holiday, hybrid working, and progression opportunities as the department continues to grow.

The Architectural practice was founded in the 1940's and has grown to over 250 people across 11 UK offices. They have established themselves as an industry leader in planning advice, heritage consultancy, building surveying, conservation and contemporary architecture. Working with public bodies, charities, trusts, private companies, contractors, developers and individuals, they have been involved in the care and development of some of the best-loved buildings and in the UK and abroad. To be considered for the role of Building Surveyor you must have experience in heritage and conservation projects and preferably chartered MRICS.



Role & Responsibilities

  • Conducting site surveys to evaluate building defects and recommend remedial works
  • Preparing detailed illustrated reports supported by thorough background research
  • Drafting specifications for repair works
  • Administering construction contracts
  • Providing clients with high-quality, timely advice on building material condition and performance
    -Attending client and consultant meetings, offering appraisals of building material condition and performance
  • Ensuring financial accountability through effective time and resource management
  • Preparing fee proposals and contributing to bid submissions.


Required Skills & Experience

  • MRICS (MCIOB also considered)
  • IHBC is desirable
  • Heritage/conservation project experience
  • Direct experience of complex repair and refurbishment projects
  • Delivery of building surveys for heritage assets
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant technical standards and statutory requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of building decay processes and repair techniques.
