Vanbrugh Group are a Specialist Construction Recruitment Consultancy who recruit Commercial and Production staff for our clients.
We have been appointed by one of our partners who are looking to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor into their expanding team. The role will involve working with Directors and Senior Management to co-ordinate, support and work on all health and safety aspects with regard to main contractors responsibilities under CDM Regulations. To establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with health and safety are adhered to. To actively promote our clients health and safety culture.
Main Duties:
• To provide input and assist in the development, production and monitoring of Construction Phase Plans and Site Layout Plans Including site signage, issuing site register etc.
• To arrange and attend site audit visits and monitor on-site performance.
• Develop, produce and monitor Health and Safety Files at Contract completion including liaising with Site Managers/Sub-Contractors for Health and Safety information / Certification / Manuals etc.
• Collecting and duly recording Accident Records/ Investigations/ documentation and reporting to Insurers / HSE as necessary
• Chair and attend Health and Safety Review Meetings
Preferred Experience:
The successful candidate will ideally meet the following criteria:
Professionally qualified within Health and Safety field (NEBOSH/NCRQ, BSc or MSc in Safety)
Proven track record as a Health and Safety Advisor within the Construction industry.
Thorough knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation.
Accident and incident investigation experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and to positively influence others.
IT literate.
Skills and Technical Knowledge Preferred:
NEBOSH qualification/NCRQ equivalent, C&G, BSc or MSc in Safety related subject or an IOSH Managing Safely
