Our London-based client is seeking a seasoned Data Architect to join their team.

This role is ideal for a strategic thinker and hands-on professional with deep expertise in architecting cloud solutions, especially within AWS. The position requires someone who can bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, demonstrating both thought leadership and robust technical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement data and analytics platforms and data integration solutions on AWS, translating business requirements into scalable, high-performing solutions.
Leverage AWS services (Redshift, DynamoDB, RDS, Aurora, EC2, EMR, API Gateway, Lambda, and more) to architect and optimize data infrastructure.
Utilize data integration tools like Talend-BigData to build efficient and robust data workflows.
Conduct capacity planning, design, provisioning, and administration for AWS resources, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
Work collaboratively in a team environment, driving project outcomes and fostering cross-functional communication.
Act as a technical advisor, providing thought leadership in AWS cloud architecture and data strategy.
Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and satisfaction at all project stages.

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 15+ years in the industry with at least 5 years dedicated to architecting cloud solutions and data infrastructure on AWS.
AWS Expertise: Proven experience with AWS services such as Redshift, DynamoDB, RDS, Aurora, Route 53, EC2, EMR, Elastic Beanstalk, API Gateway, and Lambda.
Data Integration: Proficiency with data integration tools like Talend-BigData, and the ability to implement scalable and distributed architecture on AWS.
Big Data Technologies: In-depth knowledge of Apache Spark, Hadoop Ecosystem, Impala/Hive QL, and advanced SQL.
Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python, Scala, and/or Java with expertise in at least one language.
Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, solution-oriented attitude; experienced in engaging stakeholders at all levels.
Architectural Frameworks: Familiarity with formal methodologies and frameworks such as TOGAF.
